Art I Starts Color Theory

Art I started color theory today through the creation of color wheels. This project helps students understand how to mix colors to create other colors. 

Discovery of Michelangelo Sculptures

Recently, art historians have announced the discovery that two bronze sculpture previously thought to be the work of other famous artists are actually the work of Michelangelo.  This is an incredible find!  Check out this link to read about and view an image of the sculptures:

Self-Portrait Progress

Art I is making more progress on their self-portraits today. 

The Built Environment

Art II students explored the built environment yesterday with a walk through of our high school. We took a long look at interesting angles and repetitive patterns. As we walked, each student took pictures of areas that stuck out to them. Once we were back in the classroom, each student selected their favorite image to recreate in a graphite drawing. This is the progress they've made so far.
